Mission Statement

Our mission is to rescue any animal that is in danger of abuse, abandonment, or being prematurely euthanized due to overcrowding conditions. We are the protectors of those without a voice. Our rescued animals are placed in loving foster homes until a forever home is found. We ensure that every rescued animal that comes through our doors is provided with proper medical attention before they are adopted out. We are also committed to educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, and the dangers of heartworm disease.

"You can't buy love, but you can rescue it"

As the owner and founder of Paw Up for Rescue, Tana Labuda has built her reputation with many out-of-state kill shelters by stepping in and saving several dogs considered "unsavable". Tana is proud that Paws Up 4 Rescue is one of the few rescues willing to take heartworm-positive dogs and treat them for this life-threatening disease. She has also rescued many more wonderful dogs from the heartbreaking fate of euthanasia due to overcrowding.

Tana realizes that she would not be able to successfully save all these lives without the ongoing commitment of her many volunteers. She is also grateful for the selfless transport teams who ensure that each rescued animal has safe passage to Paws Up 4 Rescue.

As a 100% foster-based rescue, she relies on generous volunteers to take the animals into their homes and care for them while they await their forever homes.  If you're interested in joining Tana's team, Paws Up provides everything needed for the animal such as leashes, collars, food, treats, crates, medical care, etc. All you supply is the shelter, love, and the ability to present them at adoption events.
